WHY MAINE?

Tell me, what draws you to this incredible state?

Oh, Maine. If you’ve been here once, it likely has impacted you. Perhaps you came up on a family vacation where you dipped your toes in our icy waters and breathed in that magical fresh air. Or maybe you came recently on a trip and realized that Portland is the epicenter for foodies, plus has countless really good breweries . Or that midcoast is loaded with picturesque fried food shacks and lighthouses.  We’re not all coastline though – we’ve got deep fragrant woods, glorious hiking, and best-of-the-east skiing and snowboarding.

With me as your sidekick you’ve got an insight that is unparalleled – as I’ve lived in the following areas of this glorious state:

Downeast - I grew up in the town that is most known for Stephen King’s residency, Bangor. What it also should be noted for is the best TJ Maxx in the entire country – and trust me I’ve played compare and contrast with this challenge. What else should be noted is the interesting venues in this area (summer camps, funky old buildings) and the proximity to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, swoon.

Midcoast – Shortly after we said “I do” the hubs and I moved to Midcoast where I assisted in running a small environmental nonprofit. Midcoast is THE area of the state you think of when you think of quintessential Maine scenery – I’m talking lobster pounds, lighthouses, rocky shorelines, and quaint downtowns loaded with amazing small businesses. With incredibly talented vendors and creative spirits to boot, this area of the state is a great one for your special day.

Sugarloaf Mountain – Sigh. This incredible area of the state is loaded with our great Maine woods. Spending winters up here is true magic – the best place on earth for winters. You celebrate snowfall and so does the entire community around you. For my winter clients, this area of the state is quite perfect. For our summer couples, it’s also complete with a wooded aisle to walk down, watering holes to cool off in, and loaded with hiking trails, mountain views, and rivers for rafting adventures (a great idea for a bach party if you’re into the outdoors, jussssst saying).

Portland – While I’ve dabbled in many regions throughout the state, Portland is home. Just 2 hours from Boston and 2 hours from other the aforementioned areas I’m gushing about. We’re also minutes from countless beaches, walking trails, freshly shucked oysters, on-trend cocktail bars, and brown butter lobster rolls (drool). I’m ever so fortunate to call this city home. And your guests will be psyched when they get to explore this city for your celebration.

Having been in the event industry for years I’ve gotten a good handle on the state’s offerings, from top to bottom. Even if I haven’t lived there, there’s a heck of a good chance I know the area and can’t wait to spend time there coordinating your fab day.

So, what do you love most about Maine? The salty air and rolling waves? The crack of the lobster shells as you sit shoreline with friends enjoying lunch? How about the incredible hiking and changing colors of the leaves in the fall? There is something in Maine for everyone, which is why this is a great state to say “I do” in. Whether you prefer a lakeside retreat, a historical warehouse, a rustic barn, or an ocean view, we’ve got you covered – and I’m here to be your ultimate tour guide. And I promise, your wedding guests will be pumped to have an excuse to travel to this special state.
